lol but the amont of money we earn here is diff to london, i earn £19,000 a yr which is classed as good for my age ect but i bet thats a poor wage in london?
£650 is the top end of the market here lol

you know what thats actually even a good wage here, at my last job i was on fifteen and a half! i'm so moving, me and my OH were thinking of moving coz when we looked at earnings and house prices in scotland we were amazed! they get away with ripping us off in london just coz its the capital city!

bloody hell i knew it was expensive in london but its a rip of. usual price for a 3bed house her is £500 a month...

whats concil tax like in london??

I considered moving to London when I went to stay with a pal when I split up with my EX an there was just NO way!! It was like 400 quid for a studio flat if I was lucky in terrible rotty looking areas! I have a 2 bedroom bungalow here for less than that!

Dionne sounds liek your happy & have a nice wee home for you & your family ~ Good luck ~ Hopefully not catch you when-ever I'm sure you will find a way :D x

yeah its a right rip off..my council tax is 127 a month and i'm just a band c...thats one of the lowest! i mean thats plain daylight robbery!

its the same here fran drives me insane  with prices are what they are round here we cant afford to move :( im paying 400 a month for a 2 bedroom flat on the 15th floor of a tower block but thats only because the place is falling apart and the landlord wont do any of the repairs at all. we have just had to replace the toilet because it was leaking dirty water all over the floor  which meant all the flooring had to be replaced too  works out costing a heel of a lot more than the 400 a month that we pay :wall:

its horrible isnt it coz we could live somewhere nicer with a garden for half the price if we moved further north but i live near all my family and OH's family and they're my support when the baby comes plus they're gonna want to have regular contact with the baby!
plus you know jobs etc would have to be changed its just a pain!

Hi fran, I work in Greenford, I am sure you know the place and just like you, we were fed up of paying £650 a month for a one bed maisonette! so we moved a little bit up north, aylesbury and bought a 3 bed house with 2 gardens(front and back), a garage and it's in a close 5 minutes walk from 24 hours Tescos, just great! we bought it for £132000, so mortgage is just above what we used to pay as a rent, but at least it's OUR place!

we looked for a house for 1 year and a half, and even if we have to commute, 40 minutes drive, it's well worth it! I have some colleagues who leave in london, who need as much time as us to go to work, anyway!

If you want to move, it's worth checking, hun, High wycombe, reading, aylesbury...it's much cheaper and you can get a nice place!

Mel xx

thanks mel :)
yeah thats not a bad idea we also looked at the hemel hemstead area! its a good idea to move just outside the more expensive parts so you can still travel there but dont have to pay to live there! my best friend lives in greenford!

we're gonna save up for a bit and then seriously consider moving we dont want our son going to school round here!

thanks for the advice hun xx

Oh Dionne, I am so so pleased for you as I know how worried you were. The house sounds fantastic! Can't wait to see the pictures once you've put your mark on it!

Hurry up and get that bloody bill paid though!!!!

Prices are well different up here. Dionne you would be so rich! My OH's last job was management and he was on just over £16,000.

A 3 bedroom rented house is around £350

Dionne thats brilliant news im so happy for you all!!!! and not to steal your thunder but we should be moving shortly too into a lovely house just up the road from us and i a very nice part of where we live i cant wait (atleast i'l get rid of the nagging in-laws)!!!!! :D

Eek, I only just saw this thread. Can't wait to see pics of the new house Dionne, I bet you'll have internet soon...Kris is a forum junkie too isn't he?...I'm sure he'll sort it out

I was always a bit peeved off about the fact that my english collegues doing the same job as me, was earning up to £7000 more than me a year. I was based in Edinburgh and property is seriously expensive. The highlands might be a bit cheaper, but you won't find work there easily.

Emilia xx

woooo hooooooo i have managed to pay my bt bill its all getting transfered on fri so u ant getting rid of me so easy :D

im peed of as i have to pay £120 to get the bt line put in as its a brandnew house

They tried to get us to do that in the flat that we rented, and we asked the landlord to pay it and she refused....
So we didn't get a phone line, we were only gonna live there for a year so wouldn't have worked out worth it!!!

Shocking that BT do that!!!!

Congrats on your new house Dionne
