Normal hiccups

is it normal for LOs to have hiccups for long episodes like up 2 an hour hes had hiccups for an hour earlier and now hes had them for about 30mins n still going its rele weird

dunno, mine goes on for ages but not a full hour, more like 10 minutes

How can you tell what a hiccup is? I get some repeat nudges sometimes but that's about it

i think the longest trog's have lasted have been about 20 minutes. its sooo annoying!

bumpmakes3 - for me, they feel like a little repetitive spasm, every 3/4 seconds, quite low down...

I've felt them for probably no more than around 15-20 minutes but I usually give a little rub or move position and they stop. Only because after a while it makes me feel a bit sick.

this one had them for over an hour last night, did my head in. i hope this one doesnt get them lots after birth, alana did and i felt helpless, she always looked so fed up when she had them

This LO gets them loads and for long periods too.
I must be eating something he/she really likes the taste of as apparently they get them when they gulp down amniotic fluid too fast.

its proberly the diet coke i keep drinking...


well thanks guys i had to ask as ive seen post about hiccups but normally people have said it lasts about 15 mins or less i dont feel so un-normal now
