Does anyone else have a baby who makes a noise when they are asleep? The annoying thing is through the day she sleeps silently and hardly moves, but through the night we have constant squirming around and a mixture of grunting type noises!! I can't sleep for her! She makes a similar noise when she wants feeding but when i look at her in the night she is usually asleep making all this noise and might have only fed very recently. (I know she isn't wanting feeding anywy)

She has had really bad trapped wind over the last couiple of weeks-the other night she was up all night screming with itbut it's got a bit better so I'm wondering if that's why she doing it, but it isn't bad enough to wake her.

ANyway...has anyone else had this...any advice??? I don't want to move her out of my room...but it's so noisy all night :(

The grunting and snorting thing is actually quite normal in small babies. And for some reason more so at night :wall:

My LO does this lots, never in the day when sleeping but always a night. Snorts, grunts, thrashes around..... he does have quiet times also overnight. The noise tends to happen from about 4am onwards usually. Often a case of he needs to fart (or is wet and he hates being in a wet nappy) and until he does that, we hear him. Once he lets rip a few he settles.

He never is awake during this, but its far from a deep sleep.

If she is seeming like she needs to let some wind out you could try what we do and gently hold her legs and lift them up and over her body a bit. So her feet are pointing up bottom up sort of thing. Galen never stirs when I we do this and often will be able to pass the wind when we do that. We also rock his legs back and forth a little to encourage it out. Seems to work for us.

 Antonio was like that for about 3 months! He made all sorts of animal noises! Everytime me and OH popped our head over the mosses basket he was fast asleep. We ended up making a game of it by saying what animal noise he was making at the time! The most common noise he made was of a sheep, then it went onto and horse, then an elephant.

Dont worry, I was told its very normal.

T xx

Emms is just like your bab. We have moved her to her own room now so I can get some sleep after 5am!!!!

Yep i can hear Calleigh right now grunting and sqeaking over the monitor. On top of this she shuffles round her cot at night.
With Calleigh doing that all night and the OH snoring i am the only one who doesnt get a decent nights sleep :wall:

Was going to post the same! It's unbelievable the amount of noise Cooper makes! He keeps me awake from about 4/5 every morning. But sleeps like a baby  through the day! xx

sounds like our lo's are similar...didn't you say cooper had bad wind too in another post? .violet is terrible with it and cries for a couple of hours on and off (basically..colic!) I think this is the problem at night cos it hurts her belly-she doesn't always wake up but it makes her grunt and shuffle etc :(

Yep Cooper has got bad wind got some infocol but doesn't seem to do much. Lets hope it passes soon for them as i really can't sleep when hes doing this and i'm absolutly knackered!
