How do I stop them. EVERY single night in the past week Ive had really horrible vivid nightmares about either my partner leaving me or really horrbile people coming to kill me etc. You get the idea.

Anyway, when I wake from them they leave me in a terrible state of mind all day and I find myself panicking about all these things.

Is there anything I can take before bedtime to aid a restful sleep. I really don't think all this panicking and being scared will be doing the baby any good.

worried.

I went through about a week of this dreams about my hubby doing things and me killing people :? But it stopped after the week it was well strange, i know what you mean though makes you all worried the whole day when i kept having the one where i killed a man i kept thinking have i really as it was so real.....

Not sure there is anything you can take while pregnant maybe speak to your MW or pop in the chemist :D

im going therough this at the moment, but not about killing or mark leaving me, last night was awful for me never woken up in such a hurry, i even walked out to get in the car to go check on baby, i didnt belive i was still pregnant..

Im going to have a radox bath, take some herbal sleeping pills tonight, will let you know how i get on and if i had a better night sleep or not..

Hope you dont keep getting these dreams cos they are horrible, you have my sympathy

I had two last night:

1) My brother had stolen my mum (sounds stupid but were so close I couldn't bear anyone taking her away for good)
2) My baby died inside me - OMG nightmare or what!!

I got up early again this morning, I can't handle returning to sleep and thinking about those types of things.

To be honest, no point asking my midwife... I dont mean to be so derogatory, but well, Im gonna... she's just not very good at all! Very uncaring!

I keep meaning to make time for myself on a night to have a nice relaxing bath.. but what with working late, making tea, doing dishes and washing I just get no time for anything more than a quick shower. :(

Don't think it's helping with my boyfriend going away this weekend on a stag weekend. I keep dreaming about him not coming back to me cos he's found a better life down there with no worries :(

Think it's probably just alot of worries at the moment. I also haven't felt any flutters for a few days now, which is making me wonder about things too.

Thank you for your replies. Any more simple remedies are welcome :)

Luv

I dont know about any actual remedies except maybe try and relax before bed, a nice bath, cup of hot milk, horlicks etc. I think this is just part of being pregnant as a lot of us have suffered with these, I find myself dreaming of lots of old friends and my ex and often they're not very nice.

I found they do ease off slightly but I still get them

here's to some better nights

I've heard that eating cheese at night can trigger nightmares - I don't think this theory has been proved correct - but did any of you have any cheese on the night of the nightmares?

I was havin really horrible nightmares, again about me killing people or people I love dying and I was waking up in tears. I've listened to a sort of relaxation CD (I'm trying hypno birthing) the last 2 nights and have had the most amazing sleeps. If you're not into that maybe listen to some gentle music x

hi i also went through a week or two of nightmares when i was 16 17 weeks. one dream was that my BF was a murderer and another involved us finding 2 little girls that had eaten their parents!!!!  some were about my DD dying and id often wake up crying or really distraught. they do get better tho and it only lasted about a week or two. now my dreams are still very vivid but they dont contain anything scary. hth xxxxx

ive had really horrid dreams pretty much from the begining of my pregnancy. they are about babies being hurt or killed mostly and are very disturbing. ive stopped watching scary things so i dont go to bed with negative thoughts on my mind.
