I'm currently 16+ 5 and since about week ten I was weeing frequently through the night this then calmed down around 12/13.

But it has now come back with a vengeance! last night I went for a wee five time between 10pm and 5am :wall2:

Has anyone experienced this is there any preventative methods or tips any one can suggest?

a night sleep would be lovely!:nap:

sometimes i get up ateast 6 times but the minimum is twice. 3am and 5am

VERY very annoying.

Sorry no preventative methods lol

It's really getting me annoyed too ith just several trips from 10 till 6.30. Just getting us ready for broken sleep eh ladies?! Lol x

Ah it's super annoying but beats the alternative of peeing the bed! Unfortunately it just gets more frequent as baby gets bigger and presses on your bladder.

I wouldn't slow/limit your water intake before bed or anything though as dehydration is definitely not a better alternative to waking up a few times in the night! I've found it's actually easier to get to sleep from waking up in the night now as my body is used to it, and I'm an awfully light and fussy sleeper to begin with!

I've been going hourly today! My midwife told me to drink lots as I'd had a few headaches and as I had pre-eclampsia with my previous pregnancy, so need to make sure I'm not getting dehydration headaches when headaches can be a symptom of pre-e. I also think the baby has used my bladder as a trampoline a few times.

Same here, I had it a lot at the start then week 12 and 13 wasn't too bad and had a few nights where I didnt have to get up at all. Now I am back to about twice in the night and usually the same times (1am then 5amish) and after the 5am one I struggle to get back to sleep, sometimes just staying awake until I have to get up. I am now 15 weeks.

I am going to try limiting what I drink in the evenings but I've found myself quite thirsty in pregnancy and cant help it!
Selina yes I think its also to get us used to broken sleep for the newborn!

My 2.5 year old is usually a great sleeper but has been up 2-3 times a night for the last few weeks. I was getting up to pee on top of all that but have started just to go when he is up anyway which is working a bit better. But then I come back to bed, have literally a sip of water which feels like it turns in to a litre of pee!

I spoke to my mw about this today as Im waking up in agony aa Im so desperate for a wee and its like the pressure is painful. I explained that after just one small glass of water before bed is causing 3/4 of these painful wake ups and what seems to be a full bladders worth of wee each time. Mw explained that fluid in our body doubles and we are also peeing our babies waste as well as our own, makes sense really and I suppose its a positive thing that waste is being filtered out.

I know it doesnt help or make it feel any better but does explain it. Xxxx

Haha, that makes so much sense! I figured it was excess fluid when feet were elevated you can get rid of it more easily.
