Hi everyone!! im 21 and me and my partner have been together for 4 yrs nearly and we have just started to ttc. the first time we tried was last month but was about a week before my period was due and obviously nothing happened cus this was after ovulation. but this month weve been trying again, my period isnt due till 23rd dec and i havent had any symptoms yet apart from one time after we tried i had like little twinges at the bottom of my stomach for 2days in a row and then they went and havent had any since then. i also have an overactive thyriod, last time i went for my appointment the doctor said all my levels are nearly perfect and it seems to be undercontrol so now im only on 5mg of tablets which is tiny everyday. do you think the thyriod problem would make it harder for me to concieve? and what the the twinges i experienced? pls help. thanks. x x

 Welcome to Pregnancy Forum :D

I was diagnosed with an overactive thyroid about 2-3 years before my youngest son was born, it's awful isn't it ? :(

I was ttc and nothing was happening but my condition was untreated until it got very severe. About 6 months after my levels were stable I fell pg and he is now 4 and I got pg twice after that as well :)

I think as your levels have stabilised you shouldn't have much problems. Once you get pg though you will have to be kept a close eye on and your levels checked very regularly. x

aww thanks for your help, youv'e put my mind at rest now lol i thought it might take me ages because of the thyriod, im really hope its worked this month but i havent had any symptoms except the twinges. do you what they are? and is it normal to not have pregnancy symptoms but be pregnant? x

The twinges could be ovulation :) With 8 days left before you're due your period I think it would be abit early for symptoms so try not to worry about those :)

When I conceived my son I literally had not one symptom until I was 3 days late and then I realised I was late but that was all, I never had any symptoms with him until I was 6 weeks pg :)

Oh I meant to ask have you been using ovulation tests? It might help you to pinpoint ovulation abit better and thus increasing your chances of becoming pregnant :)

no i havent tried those yet, this is my first proper month of ttc so if nothin happens then i wil probly get sum for nxt month. thx for you help!! x

You're welcome, the tests are very cheap from ebay/amazon so stock up but fingers crossed you won't need them :dust:
