Hi,

A couple of weeks ago I was sent for a GTT as I had had glucose show up in urine twice. Results came back fine. Had 34 week midwife app today and again glucose showed up +2. I have changed my diet to reduce sugar intake (still had odd chocolate but cut out white bread, pasta etc). Anyone else had same?? Is it more important that my blood sugar was ok or is glucose in urine as much as a worry??

I passed my GTT( only had one as had sugar in my urine) passed it with flying colours no where near etc but every time i still have sugar in my urine. Mw isn't concerned at all so guess it must be fine.

Ah ok that's reassuring thanks :) the diabetes specialist is meant to be calling me as mw didn't know what to do but not heard yet. Hopefully be ok!

I had glucose in my urine when I was in hospital at the weekend. But they also did blood tests and told me was fine... But I too did wonder about it! As am conscious I have had a sweet tooth during pregnancy.

I did Google and apparently increased CM could be a reason for it... But I'll prob ask at my next midwife appointment!

Actually collettypie the mw did say discharge may have affected the test, as ive had protein once and discharge can with that.

Didn't even consider CM... Too many factors!! I guess if I don't hear from anyone I'll just see what they say in two weeks at next appointment... Thanks for replies x

The worst that will probably happen is you're asked to do another GTT. Were you told the results of the last one?

I've had three this pregnancy! Never had glucose in my urine but I'm measuring big and my GTT results have all been at the higher end of normal. So they've obviously been worried that it might turn into GD, although it never did.

Midwife said results of GTT were fine, can't find any figures in my notes though x
