So Iam around 5 weeks pregnant maybe more not sure on exact dates yet, I currently work in a care home on nights but I applied for the senior position before I knew I was pregnant and have my interview on Wednesday for it, do I tell her before during or after the interview that I'm pregnant? Really not sure what to do xx

As far as I'm aware you're under no obligation to inform them during an interview that you are pregnant, and if you chose to out of personal choice and they used it as a reason to not give you the job that is discrimination and illegal.

Have a look at this site - https://worksmart.org.uk/work-right.../if-i-go-job-interview-do-i-have-tell-them-im and maybe some more googling so you're fully armed with facts in case you need them!

The site also stated that the earliest you have to tell them by law is the end of the 15th week of pregnancy (and as you're only about 5 weeks you don't have to tell them anything)

HOWEVER it will affect your maternity pay if you're changing employers not just roles, so double check on that too!

I wouldn't tell them until after you've found out you've got the job xx

Thankyou. No its the same company I will be working for just would be a promotion from care assistant to senior care assistant, I'm glad they can't hold it against me as I thought if I didn't tell them they would have me for it and then I thought if I tell them I might not get it as I will have to leave for maternity but then I'll be leaving any ways for it im not sure when to tell them Cos There's a fair bit of moving and handling to do, I had to tell one of my co workers as I was struggling with really bad cramps and back ache Wednesday night so she bless her did most of the heavy stuff she won't say anything either to any one as she's like my work mum xx

Do be prepared though that if your job carries any risks you should really tell them so they can manage them, as legally required to do so. For example I had to be taken off working with the volatile public to a desk role to minimise risk. But I wouldn't mention it at the interview and if you're offered the job go from there with discussing any risk factors.
Also you're entitled to leave for antenatal appointments during work time too but obvs they need to be aware to accommodate for that!

Thankyou ffo, just seen your ticker any time soon :-) xx
