Right before we start i'm only 18 having my first baby and i don't claim to know everythinglol, but i used to work at a supermarket with this woman who has a 16 year old daughter who i don't really get on with anyway, she tried for her baby and is a week furher gone than me, and honestly her and her mother act as if they are better than everyone all because her daughter is pregnant, they act like they know everything and they are really starting to bug me, my mum works with her mum and she's constantly showing off.. 'I have 12 bottles..I have 8 dummys' and so on.
At her 20 week scan they couldn't tell what the baby is, but her and her mum are on a mission to find out because 'they have to know'. In your pregnancy notes theres something about banana and lemon which is an area at theback of the head and if its banana shaped then im guessing its abnormal. well my mum just phoned me and asked me what it meant because LAURA the 16 year old thinks its something to do with the sex. I know its only material things but she really is doing my head in. Shes even going as far as pretending she hasnt felt any movements so she can get another scan to find out what it is. Will they give her another scan for that or will they just check the heartbeat?
GRR sorry to go on about nothing.. it's like our pregnancies are a competition shes really doing my head in lol! GRRRRRRRRRRR!
Right ok..I think i feel a bit better now hehe :) xx

It's silly competing on things like this. I can't see the point and I agree with you as I'd find it annoying too.

It's a tricky situation with all the pregnancy hormones about it could turn nasty! ;) I think I'd find it hard to bite my tongue anyway.

It's like those women who say stuff when you've had your baby like "oh doesn't your little Jimmy sleep through the night yet? My little Jane has been doing that since she was a day old!" :wall:

Glad you feel better after letting it out! :D

Hi

I agree people like that  Try and ignore her hun.
 Katrina

she is certainly not acting very maturely.

maby soon she will realise that it isnt a competition. it doesnt sound like her mom helps the matter much either.

I can understand how you feel...think this, tho. That poor baby has to live with that Mum and Granny...
I just feel sorry for the poor little thing.

I doubt they'll give her a scan just cos she hasnt felt movement, they'll most likely just use the doppler.

Jesus, if she's that desperate why doesnt she just get a private sexing scan?? :?

I know its hard but try and ignore the stupid little comments, if you pretend you dont care they'll have no one to brag to

It's quite draining of your energy I'm sure, a friend just annouced to me that she's now 7 weeks pregnant and thus only a week or so behind me. I pointed out I'm 14 weeks thus double what she is and OMG has she become so competitive with me.....what makes it worse is that I stay at home full time, fortunately enough I don't have to work but she does and her working is full time and she'll be back full time after maternity leave too as she simply can't afford to stay home - anyway all the sudden this so called best mate seems to be on some competition with me which is utterly stupid when she knows with the best will in the world she'll not have the lifestyle and things we have here so it's down to who's having the better gender (I'd laugh my socks off if we both had the same!!) and who's baby will be lighter, who'll have the easier labour. Oh geeze I'm sooooooooooooooooooooooo bored of it. Why do people feel they have to compete with babies/pregnancy!!

MummytoBee, I sympathise with you it's just boring and it drains my energy listening to her going on and on. At lease with your "friend" you could suggest paying out the £70 or so and having a private gender scan, I have no idea how to shut my mate up with her silly pointless comments about useles competitive things!
