Hi All,

I have just enrolled for my NCT Antenatal class and they have sent me all the details of it. The classes will be done in 5 sessions and are priced for 307 pounds..I am finding that quite expensive..

Have any of you also enrolled for them..are they generally priced this much. Please advise.

Thanks

Blimey, what part of the country do you live in??
It cost us £180 that includes the membership, which we decided to do for a year, so we get local newsletters and know of clubs that are going on. This is also for 8 or 9, 2 hour sessions for the two of us.

Mine was same as ^^^^^ £180 for both of us and a year's membership - weird that it is soooo much more for you!?!?

Yup I also felt it..I booked in West London at the nearest center. I think i will give them a call and ask them why it is so expensive and if I can find some where else cheaper

Blimey...we didn't want the yearly membership so got it for £140. Definitely query that hun

Yes mine was £140 without membership, that price doesn't sound right xxx

sheesh thats expensive, i got told when i rang them up to enquire that its £72 per class, which i could afford at a push, but its a big push,

our local childrens centres do all the same classes for free, so im gona go to those instead, not cos im tight with money (well yeah ok im a little bit tight) but i think i will get just as much information from the childrens centres and would prefer to spend the money on the baby when its here

:)

That's what we are doing, childrens centres and hospital. Considering I work in Early Years at our local council I need to look like I'm using everything available to me :)

Done a labour workshop, breastfeeding class so far and got water birth and active labour in the next two weeks.

I'd rather use my money on baby when she gets here and I also don't see what the difference is in the classes that the NCT offer??

The ones we looked into are £180! That's faaaar to expensive. We arent doing the ones you have to pay for, waste of time for us. x

Esoames - do all councils do water birth/breastfeeding/active labour classes?

I must admit I'm having to use childrens centres in two different councils to get what I want. I live in one area (Rotherham) but having baby in a different one (Bassetlaw).

Bassetlaw has the best offering of classes, but I haven't really investigated Rotherham as I'm not delivering in the hospital there.

As far as I know all childrens centres should be offering antenatal sessions and if they aren't an email to them usually gets them arranging something soon.
