So I'm just over 8 weeks and the past week nausea has started. The past 48 hours have been horrendous! I actually don't know what to do - I'm lying down, having naps then trying to keep myself busy but nothing is helping. My husband and I bought ginger tea, ginger ale and ginger biscuits today but they aren't helping. Any suggestions! Think I'm going to have to get antisickness tablets!
Thanks

Xx

For my entire nine months in my first pregnancy I had to keep plain crackers on hand! I kept them in my glove box, in my work desk, by my bed, etc, and about once an hour I had to eat two or three crackers to hold down the nausea!

Eat little and often to kerp your blood sugar levels up x

Agree eat little and often and make sure you are sipping fluids frequently. I've heard that vitamin B6 can help also. If things get too bad there are some anti sickness medicines that are safe in pregnancy that your doctor can prescribe.

Bananas can help, I found dry biscuits hourly to nibble on help. Also lots of water. The travel sickness bands can help, and ginger or peppermint. I eat mints to help sometimes. It's really really horrible and I totally sympathise!

i tried travel sickness bands and they seemed to help. again nibble on crackers often too to help keep the sickness at bay.

Another vote for eating regularly. And if you are taking pregnancy multi vits, make sure not to take them on an empty stomach

I honestly think there should be a sticky at the top of this page for this as it's such a big part of Tri 1. I suffered with MS throughout both pregnancies of mine and never managed to get on top of it. I so so feel for all MS sufferers. The only thing I can recommend is to just try and rest as much as possible and try and get fluids in (easier said than done!).

Thank you everyone for your comments. I'm not being sick so managing fluids etc, just feel sick. I'm finding keeping myself busy keeps my mind off it! Peppermint tea is helping so drinking lots of that. Bought crackers today - I'm hoping they help!

I've been sipping on lucozade and sucking sour sweets which sort of helps (not exactly healthy though)

Chewing him helped me in early nausea, I suffer bouts of it still which I now suck on sweets.

Sympathies, it's dreadful. I'll second what everyone else has said and say force yourself to eat a small amount of something even though you won't want to at all - the nausea seems to be worse on an empty stomach. Ginger did nothing for me sadly and because I tried so much of it when I felt sick, I can't look at it now.

I lived on fruit ice lollies and sour fizzy sweets for a couple of weeks as they were the only things that made me feel slightly better. Flat coke (you can get the caffeine free stuff if you're drinking loads of it) was great too - I actually enjoyed half coke, half water though now that I feel better that seems like madness! Ready salted crisps were vaguely palatable too. In retrospect, although I worried about my terrible diet, I think you just have to do what you can to get through. And if that means a less ideal diet for a bit then so be it. Just keep taking your vitamins.

I'm also in my 8th week and suffering terribly. I think I've tried everything but just can't keep anything down The only thing that's helped ease it is mini gingerbread men . I hope you all start to feel better soon !

Eat what you want when you want but try to keep your tummy topped up I'm sick when i get hungry if you can't keep anything down got to the doctors and ask for anti sickness tablets
