Nappy rash

Aoibheann has never had it . until now she was literally sobbing while I was changing her . She's very red and looks almost swollen in front ? i used sudo- cream and let her have some naked time . Just put her down now back in a nappy for a snooze as she got very upset . Any tips ?

as far as I know it's best just clean with cool boiled water and cotton wool, then let her get as much nappy free time as possible. I did hear of a cream that's supposed to be better than sudocrem, I think it might be called metanium?

Think your doing the right thing. apparently lots of air and sudocrem will help clear it up. if its swollen id contact health visitor just to check that its nothing else like an infection. xxx

Aww bless her hope she's better soon! About 3 times a day I put Lizzie on her mat with a muslin underneath her (with the end under her back folded over a few times so her back doesn't get wet if she wees), so she can have a kick about without her nappy on, helps prevent her bum getting too red

Oh I always use bepanthen on tattoos lol . I just feel so bad for her , its her front that's so sore and we can all imagine how painful that would be

i use timodine, madisons rash was raw and bleeding and swollen and just kept getting worse i used everything and my gp prescribed the timodine, one nappy and she was clear! it is strong BUT its needed , i use it now 2-3 times a day as prescribed to keep it at bay as hers flares up when i stop xx

Evie has explosive poos and it really made her bum red raw to the point it bled a little!! We use sudacrem each time, clean er with cotton wool and water. Her bum is much better, and was after just one laying of the stuff. My mum says it's the zinc that helps to soothe and repair.x

I prefer bepanthem-have got a rube in changin bag (I also use on tattoos lol) It leaves a clear film on the bum unlike sudocrem that leaves a thick layer and can stop the nappy workin properly.

Yeah it does stain stuff. Ruined one of my favourite tops lol! x

I always make sure I dry zacs bum after using wipes, as they are quite wet. I use the mitt that comes with baby towels. If he ever gets a sore bum I use bepanthan til it clears up, I don't use it every time though as i find it gives him little spots if I use it too often. Hope it clears up soon, must be so painful xxx
