Hi, I'd be grateful for any advice please. My lg is almost one, she has had a sore bum etc before and I usually use metanium or sudocrem on it, but this morning her bottom and the front area are really red, quite angry looking, and she was crying when I was wiping her with a wet wipe. There have been a few little red spots the last few days but now it seems really sore. Any ideas of what I can try or should I go to the doctors? Thanks xx

Try some calendula, I find sudocreme works great on my spots but does nothing for a bum rash. We only had a couple, once it flares up it's easy for it to get worse. Calendula is available in boots. If that doesn't work go docs.

I would avoid all creams, use water and cotton wool and lots of nappy free time to help the skin heal.

Letting skin breathe should help quite a bit if you can manage it x

We usually use the yellow metanium and lots of nappy free time for sore bum (the yellow metanium stains though be careful!). Could is be a reaction to teething? Or has she eaten anything different over the past few days that could cause it?
Xx

I echo what everyone else has said - nappy off and use cotton wool and water to wipe.

If it doesn't settle go to the GP to get some stronger cream as nappy rash creams protect rather than heal. My son has had some nasty nappy rash before that has only been sorted by strong steroid cream.
