My MW is an old HAG!!

The MW that comes to visit me at home to give "postnatal care" is such an old hag!! She never ask's how I'm feeling (which last week was awful as I just cried all the time, had baby blues I think ), never asks about my bleeding, feels my uterus which I was told was quite high still after leaving hospital and was there in my notes. She never noticed that Oscar was very yellow and jaundiced til we asked her to check him and she really talks down to us.

Just needed a rant. She's just been for her last visit and didn't even weigh him, saying the health visitor is coming next thursday and she can do it

You should complain though chick - that's not good enough Not by a long chalk. I wasnt happy about my GP 6 wk check - they gave me contraception and sent me away. I could have been suffering from PND and keeping a brave face for all she knew (yes a WOMAN too ).

Not sure about your area but here you can stay under the MW for upto 28 days if you want to.

I'm discharged to my HV now, thank god and hopefully she'll be much better. Luckily I've had babies before or I'd have thought I was going mad or not known what to expect from my body after birth. Feel sorry for all the 1st time mums she has under her care!

ooo who are your local midwives? we may've had the same one at some point! as mine are the wythenshawe ones. i had a really good mw first week then second some fat woman came and she didn't care about much :/ luckily when they came to weigh him, it were two different nice mws

anyway that is soo rubbish!!! i would definitely complain. you can go to surestart centres though whenever to get him weighed/checked out. so least you have that piece of mind! hopefully you will have a nice health visitor!!

come to think of it the fat mw i had who was miserable didn't even look at Riley. he had poorly poos at this point so i asked what we could do about it if we could give him water or something and she was like NO BREASTMILK IS ENOUGH. and it was like woah ok :/ maybe it WAS the same woman!! xx

oooh she was in her 6o's with brown short wavy hair and a face like thunder. Cant remember her name. The health visitor came yesterday though and she was lovely!

oh good grief thats awful. I think if someone was like that my OH would just say something about it to her face. Im the type to just go along with it and be upset afterwards tho. Its not on being like that with a woman who's just had a new baby!
