my mei tai is finished!

yes that's the site where i found instructions for how to make this one! it's a good site with loads of hints and tips. although i think full time babywearing won't be for me - when i go shopping i like to have my buggy with the shopping basket! lol

right then... i got OH to take a couple of pics. before you look at them please please please promise to ignore the following: -

1: my hair - major bad hair day and also was too knackered for make-up this morning! lol

2: my lack of fashion sense - also a result of lack of sleep and just blindly reaching into the wardrobe for anything semi-clean!

3: any mess you see in the corners of the photo. i told OH to not get those bits, but he did...

now you have been warned, here's me wearing ruben in his new mei tai. he likes it so much he fell asleep! walked to our local mum and baby group wearing it today. well comfy! also got a couple of compliments! :D also, note the straps are wider than they look, i had just put it on on a hurry for the pics and not bothered getting them neat and flat over my shoulders!

P.S Totally ignored everything you told me too ;)

Is that a hood with it?

me want one please please ppppplllleeeeaaaasssseeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Looks fab, and I ignored everything too :D

blimey girls... you watching this thread like hawks?!

thanks for the compliments  i'm blushing now!

Is that a hood with it?
it's a bit that folds up to act as a windshield and/or head support if needed.

the green panel is interchangeable (velcro) so can have a different look for every day of the week if i can be bothered to sew more panels!

I think it's great - plus it will come in really handy when you go to Norway. You wont have to worry about not having your pushchair at the airport, you can pop him in his sling and away you go :D

THAT IS FAB!!!!

Petchy please please please have you got a pattern or anything? I have a machine I can make my own, if you give me some tips!

Petchy it looks really good! I am useless on a sewing machine!

I really think you could make a good income selling them from an ebay shop and at a market. Ebay would give you a wider audience and saves you standing at a market stall all day but I'm not sure what the fees are like.

It's great that Reuben will sleep in it.

my thought exactly. i'm making a little drawstring pouch for it to go in!

PM'd you hun! i adapted a pattern i found on the web for this one and just made some minor modifications so it would be better for me. now i'm in the process of thinking up my own from scratch as i think there are still some changes i'd like to make!

Oh thats gorgeous! God, well done! Theres nothing like wearing your own creation is there.

Devil slap me down though 'cos even though I have a million MT's, ring slings and wraps, I am craving one of these at the moment :D
