My doctor is saying my baby is sizing at 19 weeks but my husband has a strict, late schedule so we plan when we have sex, there’s no way I am 19 weeks pregnant it has to be at least 2 weeks after that? Any answers to this? It is my first pregnancy

Pregnancy is calculated from the first day of your last period. So you are 19 weeks pregnant, but you've actually conceived the baby 17 weeks ago.

How is that possible? I wasn’t quite sure when my last period was when they had asked due to PCOS I have very light spotting periods so they have been tracking the baby on its measurements alone, I just switched to a new doctor my other one is retiring and this is all new for me

If you don't track ovulation you can never be quite sure when exactly you've conceived so doctors usually put a buffer of 2 weeks to the start of the pregnancy. So if you're baby is measuring 19 weeks it probably was conceived around the time that you and your husband had sex which would be 17 weeks ago.

Pregnancy weeks are weird like that, they add on two weeks from before you conceived. So like Mandy says, if you conceived 17 weeks ago, then you're said to be 19 weeks pregnant.

I know 100% when I ovulated but my baby is measuring almost a full week ahead. I wouldn’t worry too much as you could have ovulated a bit later & then baby may just be that little bit bigger.
