Hey ladies, seeing as I love you all and I feel like a piece of this wonderful community, I thought I'd let you know about something very worrying that's going on in my life right now. A few months ago I found a lump on my breast, I went to my GP and he referred me to the breast cancer unit in my town's major hospital. I went there on Thursday morning and got an ultrasound done on the lump, apparently it was very hard to make out what it was and so I had a biopsy done (three samples of cells removed from the lump via a needle) my boobie was numbed but it still hurt a little

The consultant (who has dealt with two of my aunties when they found lumps and is truly such a lovely man) said to me, "I doubt it's cancerous because you're 20 years old, not even that yet, and because it's a painful lump, it's very rare that it will be cancer". I trust his words because he is very 'upfront' shall I say. When my auntie found a lump on her breast around about 6 years ago, she had a biopsy done just like me and she got bruised on her boob because of it (I'm starting to bruise too). When she saw the consultant again, he said to her, "Do you remember me?" She said, "Yeah you're the one that bruised me!" and he replied, very directly, "Well it's a good job I did because it's cancer". :)

I have to back on Wednesday to get my results, I'm neutral about the outcome, it could be good news, it could quite possibly be bad news. I am scared, especially because of my mothers family history of cancer. Fortunately one of my aunties got a lump removed just last week and she got told there was some abnormal cells in there which can be pre-cancer. Also my other auntie is still alive thankfully, even though she caught her cancer at grade three, which is very aggressive cancer.

I really would appreciate it if you girls could just throw some positive thoughts towards me and if possible, send a prayer my way.

I will let you all know what happens on Wednesday :) xxxxx

awww hun it must be horrible to go threw this especially at your age and seeing family memeber go thru with it i pray you get some good news and its not cancer, good job you notice thou aswell and got an ultra sound and biopsy done too my thoughts are with you when you get your results ill have my fingers and toes crossed for you too hugs to you xx

Thank you so much :)
I'm leaning a bit more to the 'it's not cancer' side because it's a very painful lump, and even more so when i'm due my period (So I have an idea it might be some sort of hormone lump) but yeah we'll see on Wednesday and thanks again! <3 xxxx

 oh Hun how worrying for you. I have also heard that painful lumps are unlikely to be serious. Chin up hun, stay positive, will be thinking of you on wednesday xxx

That's what the trainee consultant said :) She examined the lump too. I think it could be a cyst!
Thanks a lot xxxx

Thinking of you TiffanyJayne keep your chin up and your thoughts happy and positive. Xxx

Thinking of you Hun, good luck for wednesday xx

Massive hugs x I wondered where you had gone too x x we will definately pray for you x x good luck x

Best of luck for Wednesday, you sound very calm which is great! Like you say it's very unlikely that it's anything serious, but with history etc you can't be too careful. Well done for telling, hopefully it will give anyone else going through the same thing a bit more confidence to get themselves checked out too. Good luck for Wednesday x :hugs:

Good luck with the results hun. keeping my fingers tightly crossed for you. xxx

Thank you all! :)
Yeah I would definitely urge anyone to get checked out inky. Once I went on Thursday, I felt so relieved. Especially because I left it for quite a while..

Not long to go now. Got a busy day today as well so I guess that will keep my suspense busy.
Will let you know of the results on Wednesday :) I have an interview thing at the job centre the same day (on Wednesday) a few hours after I get my results, I'm contemplating on cancelling it because I doubt I'll feel like going to the job centre after being told bad news. But I guess we'll just see what happens on Wednesday. xxx
