Hey ladies, seeing as I love you all and I feel like a piece of this wonderful community, I thought I'd let you know about something very worrying that's going on in my life right now. A few months ago I found a lump on my breast, I went to my GP and he referred me to the breast cancer unit in my town's major hospital. I went there on Thursday morning and got an ultrasound done on the lump, apparently it was very hard to make out what it was and so I had a biopsy done (three samples of cells removed from the lump via a needle) my boobie was numbed but it still hurt a little
The consultant (who has dealt with two of my aunties when they found lumps and is truly such a lovely man) said to me, "I doubt it's cancerous because you're 20 years old, not even that yet, and because it's a painful lump, it's very rare that it will be cancer". I trust his words because he is very 'upfront' shall I say. When my auntie found a lump on her breast around about 6 years ago, she had a biopsy done just like me and she got bruised on her boob because of it (I'm starting to bruise too). When she saw the consultant again, he said to her, "Do you remember me?" She said, "Yeah you're the one that bruised me!" and he replied, very directly, "Well it's a good job I did because it's cancer".
I have to back on Wednesday to get my results, I'm neutral about the outcome, it could be good news, it could quite possibly be bad news. I am scared, especially because of my mothers family history of cancer. Fortunately one of my aunties got a lump removed just last week and she got told there was some abnormal cells in there which can be pre-cancer. Also my other auntie is still alive thankfully, even though she caught her cancer at grade three, which is very aggressive cancer.
I really would appreciate it if you girls could just throw some positive thoughts towards me and if possible, send a prayer my way.
I will let you all know what happens on Wednesday xxxxx
