My angel is in departure lounge - normal to be painful??

Hi all,

Saw midwife today who said my little angel is still in the departure lounge. He/she has been for the last 2 weeks (I know that he/she won't go back up and I know for SURE she hasn't dropped out without me noticing!!) She has obviously gone in early (does not take after me and DH)

BUT...for all you others who have heads engaged..is it meant to be painful? I am in pain every evening and night almost to the point that I think "this must be it"...Very low down sharp period-type pain which almost prevents me from walking!!! The only thing that helps is my big inflatable gym ball so I use that!!! DOES PAIN MEAN THAT IT WON@T BE LONG?????

Know what you mean hun.
My LO has been fully engaged for a little hile now and I keep getting period type pains and lots of really sharp shooting pains in my lower back & bump & tonight i've been getting loads of Braxton Hicks which are getting stronger & kind of hurting (not to the point where it stops me walking but does make me take a deep breath in) and I keep thinking 'is this it'.

My midwife said that as the heads engaged it could be anytime but it could still be a good couple of weeks & babe will come when he's ready so who knows, hopefully your bub will come soon tho. all the signs are there that your body is getting prepared. Whats your actual due date?

my babies head isnt engaged...

and when i was preg with Dior never did engage, i went to see the midwife at 35weeks Diors head was free then that night i had her i thought the head had to engage i asked midwife today she said most of the time the head dont engage till labour!
but i feel really heavy down there so god knows how u are feeling

I am constantly looking for signs!! Can't wait now - this feels like the longest part of the pregnany. To answer your question, Nicki, my due date is the 11th of this month (just over 39 weeks now!!)

If only someone could say it will arrive on this date at this time, I would be happy - but I think that is slightly impossible!!!!! I am the type of person who likes to be in control of things - I feel totally out of control with this pregnancy, which is driving me MMMMMMAAAAADDDDDD!!!!!!

Ooooooo I'm the same, I hate not knowing whats going on and want a time date etc, its doing my head in!! I've always been quite organised and everything for this baby has been, all except for the perfect part, meeting him!

Well, good luck hun, hope you do get to meet your LO very soon. Be sure to let us know as soon as.
