In your opinion which is better... muslin squares or bibs....

how many would i need...?

i couldnt live with out either. muslin squares whilst feeding. then after all the burps. i put a bib on Harley for when he dribbles or is a bit sick..

Harley always has a bib on he dribbles so much and is always sick

ive only ever used bibs with all 3 of mine
gonna buy some muslin squares also this time

I agree with Dionne, I'd buy a pack of 6 muslins and about 6 newborn bibs...after that you need bigger bibs so don't get too many little ones :)

Charlie has reflux and although he has prescription SMA staydown milk (which has improved things no end!!) I still counted 25 bibs and about 8 muslins in this weeks wash...thats less than 7 days worth!!!!
Plus most of the bibs are now carrot stained so only wear those ones in the house

Yeah if I were to count all my bibs now I must have about 50! The newborn ones are tiny though, so I'd still say not to buy too many of them...just the bigger ones LOL

only ever used bibs but Jamie doesnt dribble yet or really throw up so i guess we were lucky there!!

I get through about 2 or 3 muslins a day with finlay, and about 4 bibs a day. I have to change it after every couple of feeds coz hes sick a lot.

6 muslins wasnt enough for me i had to buy another 6 and i'm still short sometimes!

I only ever use bibs for feeding times now Alice is having solids.

I say you can't have too many muslins as I use them constantly! Under her chin when she was breastfeeding, or lately, bottlefeeding, wiping up dribble, wiping up when she's a bit sicky, wiping up when she wees on the changing mat, wiping up when the OH gets calpol everywhere but in her mouth, emergency bib, emergency t-towel (oops), when she was tiny we used to put one on the changing mat to stop her skin getting cold against the vinyl, playing peek-a-boo...

Every wash these days has at least a handful of muslins. They started out white and are now a range of shades from off-white to bright pink!!

Dior has about 50bids and so does Harley lol. im changing them every hour.

the best ones are the pull over ones.
i dont like the next ones, they are nice for show but they go baggy round the neck easy.

primark do some goods ones 3 for £1

I used lots of bibs AND muslin squares - Maddie was a very puky baby!! I agree with Urchin though - don't bother with too many small ones - they soon need bigger ones. Also we got LOADS given to us as presents!!

I think your best off just buying a few of each, till you see what you really need. I never used the muslins I got Noah and I ended up not using the bibs till I started weaning him. He was never sick and didnt really dribble, I just held a tissue under his chin while he fed in case a little dribbled down. But some babies are ot at procestile vomit, so a nice big muslin cloth would be good. Although my OH was aparently a projectile baby and they used to feed him over the bath, cause it would fly out everywhere!

I never used muslins with Jack or Em just used little bib under chin

Which thanks to this post reminds me i really must buy more bibs for Jack if they get really carroty stained i throw them away and am now really low on then

i've got about 15 muslins and a drawer full of bibs.
Ewan used to and still dribbles, and was always sick so i used to have a muslin over my shoulder!

Next bibs dont wash very well, they shrink if you tumble dry them - even if it says its ok to, and they go all saggy.

I have stocked up on both, bib on baby and muslim on the shoulder for double protection :rotfl:

Jaycee LIVED in bibs lol proper dribble monster!! I used terry towling (thicker than muslin squares) for feeding milk and burping etc..

I went to the corner shop on Monday, and the lady behind the counter asked me how old my baby was. I was extremeley surprised as he was at home with Kayleigh. :?

She then pointed out the muslin square draped over my shoulder!!! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Charlie always has a bib on, and a muslin within grabbing distance! He is a sicky baby though, even with the C & G Comfort.

I've not bought any muslin squares, i've just bought bibs.

Oh the shame Tankett, hope it wasn't a sicky one draped over your shoulder! :rotfl:
