Hi!
I haven't been active here during this pregnancy, ut was with my last one and I hope I'll get some replies even though I'm a "stranger" now :P

I'm 35+4 and think I've started loosing my mucus plug, but isn't that a bit early?
I wiped today (sorry about the TMI...) and there was quite a lot (like 1/3 inch wide and 1,5 inches long?) of slimy, thick, sticky mucus on the toilet paper, definitely not normal thick mucus. It was not pink or red tinged, just yellowy white. I'm pretty sure it's my mucus plug coming out (in small portions).

Could this mean that I might end up going into labour before my due date? I don't assume anything will happen in the next week or two, but I have 4,5 weeks left after all, so seems a bit early for this. Anyone have any experience? I've also had period like cramps on and off for about 1-2 weeks, but kind of constant for a few hours at the time, never in a contraction like pattern.

Should I try to slow down, do less, relax more, just in case?

Thanks in advance!

I lost my mucus plug with my son at 35 weeks like you've described but I went 9 days over due unfortunately yet with my twins I lost bits from 29 weeks and gave birth at 33 weeks and when I went into labour sorry tmi but it went tinged and I lost lots throughout the day before and the day I gave birth. The mucus plug does replenish itself xxx

I lost a lot of mucus plug at 35 weeks but ended up going 8 days over due date. I was told that it can regenerate itself and is a very unreliable indicator of labour. Sorry :)

Thanks guys!
I'm actually glad, because although I want to meet the little boy there's still a lt of stuff I'd like to get done before he arrives :P

Hi, I lost my muscus plug at 33+1 and have my daughter the next day

Thanks mrsGriff! Did you loose the whole plug though? Not just a little?

Anyway, went to the bathroom again and there was another lump now.. can't help but wonder if it means something..

Have you been doing a lot? Been on your feet. I found I would lose it when I'd done too much. If your worried hun ring the maternity unit and explain your concerns that's what they're there for xxx

Well I decided to not worry, but did let my mom know just in case since she'll be taking care of our son when it all starts.
Today I've had quite a bit of shooting pain in the cervix/vagina area, like stinging or knives, but it mostly disappeared. However, now I decided to go shopping with my son and the stabbing is almost constant while I walk and painful enough that I have to stop and take a deep breath now and then. Feels like having a somewhat dull knife blade stuck in there..
I remember the feeling from last time, but not this early on (I think)!
I know the stinging can last a few weeks as well, but not so much that I can barely walk?

Experiences and advice very welcome!!

Could it be that babies engaged. They usually say lightning crotch or something similar when babies dropping. It could be just your bodies way of telling you to take it easier hun. I know it's not always possible. I started to go into early labour from 29-30 weeks I would get contractions when I did too much and they would ease off once I rested again. I had twins so it could have been due to that also. I found baths helped me relax also and would stop false contractions tbf that's how I distinguished the real ones as they didn't stop and they were that much more painful too xxx
