Moving home...help?!

I dunno if iv put this in the right place or not :S

Im due to be moving on saturday to a rented property, will find out today if its still going ahead! my guarentors have got a Guarentor form and a tenancy agreement to sign through the post but why would they need to sign MY tenancy agreement?

Im sorting out Contents Insurance today thats £130
Tv licence

is there anything else that i need to get before i move? electric and water ill obviously do once im in there and find out what company supplys to the flat.

Also shopping i need help on what things i need as a 1st shop? Im currently living at home with my mum and dad and we have lived here for 14yrs so i have no idea what im going to need to stock my cupboards or normal essentials haha! any help would be apprechiated thanks x

1st shop is pretty much everything

You'll need:

Mayo/sauce/salt/vinegar
Tins
Cleaning gear/cloths
Then just whatever food you like

Tbh I'd get the basics in until you unpack like Tea, coffee, sugar, bread, butter, something for sandwiches, cereal, spreads for toast, juice etc and then takeaway your evening meal. You will be knackered moving plus you're pregnant

For me the Net would be priority

Electricity should be either a flick of a switch on the meter or top up the meter. It would help to know it its metered before hand.

Is it electric for cooking?

What's the heating system Gas/electric/oil/open fire?

Everything is electric the cooker the heating everything haha its on meter that id have to pay monthly or quarterly for but have to find out who supplys the electric as they wont let you change the company. I do want to sort out internet but with it being rented if there is no phone line which i didnt see then itll have to be a mobile modem. Dont even know if there is cable tv wiring already there or not and they dont want holes being drilled so cant even get it. thank you for the list of stuff i need tho there is some stuff that id forgotten haha, we dont drink tea or coffee so im not needing that prob get some lemoade or something iv got all my cleaning bits all ready all from the sales x

don't forget clean bedding! My sister moved not long ago and forgot to get a duvet and sheets. She spent her first night fully clothed and wrapped in towels

i wont forget that! lol. Just had a nightmare i was going to get contents insurance for £130 which i thought was a great price. They phoned me just now to put it all through and i said i wasnt sure about what the roof was made of as no-one knows that,! so they said is it pitched and i said no its flat like MOST flats are flat roofed i thought they all was except the conversion type ones or flats with just a G and 1st floor, so anyway they put me on hold for 10mins then told me They needed to transfer me as they might not beable to quote me with a flat roof so i got put on hold again! Then i get told its all ok and the premium will be £160 because its a flat roof! The roof dont really affect me directly as there is someone above me. Grrr x
