Was talking to my mum on FaceTime last night. She wanted to see my bump and I showed her. She keeps going on about how big I am.

Anyway roll the conversation on a wee bit and she said ... You've put on weight everywhere I never did that

I was genuinely upset. I've no idea how
Much weight I've put on but I can't see much of a difference other than my bump.

She then took a huff with me and stormed off shouting something about returning all the baby clothes she's bought! Stoopid woman

Even if I have put on loads of weight ... What makes her think it's ok to say so?

Please excuse any typos from
My fat fingers!

Thats a very stang thing to do.. Is she usually the kind of person to come out with things like that? Maybe she was having a bad day. x

oh dear. Nobody can get to us quite like our Mothers can!

mine was telling me that she thinks woman who scream their way through labour are ridiculous and that "there is no need to make noise like that". HAHA just fooking wait mother till you hear the screams and blue language that is gonna come out of my mouth! she is going to be mortified!

even getting a bikini wax I turn the air blue! I swear I get tourettes with pain.

althought to be fair to her I think she will keep her opinions to herself once baby is here, she knows I am quite indepandant and stubborn and will object to any interference. So at least i dont have that to worry about x

Oh sweetie…. Can’t live with em, can’t live without em!!

If it wasn’t for my eating disorder history my mum would be the same, I come from a Sri Lankan background and the first thing anyone comments before greeting you is your weight (ie. You have put on/lost weight!!)

My dad still has a way with words and can be blunt at times…. Don’t get me started on my in-laws!! I have been in tears many a time about how huge our baby is going to be and all the advice on controlling my weight gain.

Coupled with the pregnancy hormones it can be so crushing sometimes.

Just remember how much your body is doing right now, yes you may put on a bit of weight but who really cares as long as LO is healthy?

xx

Yeah she's really childish that way!

She has always called me ten tonne tessy even though growing up I was a skinny whatsit! (size 8)

But I'm the giant in the family and my mother is stupid enough to think that if I weigh 10st and she weighs 9 stone, I'm fatter than her - even though I'm 7 inches taller?! wtf

She phoned me today as if nothing happened telling me she was buying baby vests and asking what size to get :wall2L

wow how nice is she lol, I would just take it like a pinch of salt poor thing.

lol my nan told me i must be having a girl cos ive got a fat arse! im having a boy so she was wrong anyway but i did cry!

dw hun people dont realise their bein mean

xx

Sorry, but ten tonne tessy made me laugh

My dad is like this, even before I was pregnant he always made a joke about my fat arse! I dont let it get to me, there family and tbh, if I had put on weight I'd rather they tell me than someone else! x

Maybe I'm delusional and I have put on a lot of weight :wall2:

Mums are a nightmare it's true, I've had four huge rows with my mum this pregnancy already and she doesn't even know that I'm pregnant yet , it'll get worst when she knows 'mother I'm 40 years old thanks for your advise now butt out please' will be coming her way. They just need to know their place that's all .lol.

You may be suprised, me and my mum have never got on, she kicked me out at 14. We had the mother of all arguments a week or two before my first scan and I left my dads house and had to sofa surf. I dreaded telling her as I knew it would get worse, but in actual fact shes backed off abit and makes more of an effort to get on with me. I think she knows that if she carried on the way she was, she wouldn't get to see the baby x

Luckily my Mum wouldn't say anything but yesterday my aunty said to me "I wasn't THAT big (pointing at my belly) when I was 8 months!"

Charming!!! ;)

Yeah, my mum keeps unhelpfully telling me that she didn't know she was pregnant until she was 20w (breakthrough bleeding) and no-one else could tell and she'd put on 9lbs by that point. I've already put on 8lbs so obviously that's too much lol (except she then comments I don't look like I have much of a bump yet. Can't do right for doing wrong. Also get told off for exercising wtf.

Mothers! Me and my mum went to a baby shower the other day and she starting telling me about all these people who have had babies early and theyve been fine even though they weighed less than a bag of sugar etc.... is she trying to tell me somethings going to go wrong? I felt like crying! I think because their our mums they think they can just say things others wouldnt dare! I liked your quote about the fat fingers though that gave me a little giggle! xx
