Having baby Friday woohoo!!!

Questions....
what happens after they pull the baby out? where does the baby go whilst im being stitched?
Me and my mum a exceptionally close and i want to be the one to present my baby to my mum. how does it work would the babies dad usually take the baby out to show the family?
i hope im making sense. and what happens when i go to recovery where will the baby be then?
My mum has agreed that she would prefer to wait and for me to come out with the baby as it would be such a proud moment for her. Do you think this will be possible?

Dont think im wording it very well but hope you can understand that :)

Thanks all xx

I had an emergency section but DD was fine so it went quite calmly. My OH was with me in theatre and when DD was born they quickly checked her over then handed her to OH. He held her for a little while then the midwives took him and DD back to our room while they finished stitching me etc.

Afterwards I couldn't get out of bed by myself and def couldn't walk very far so OH did the first nappies etc. but DD stayed in hospital with me till I was released and we just invited people to come at visiting time as normal. My mum came by herself initially (my dad came straight from work) and as DD was sleeping in the little cot my OH picked her up and handed her to my mum. It was a special time for us and we just played it by ear. The hospital will follow your lead when it comes to visitors etc. so just go for what suits you best.

I had an emergency c section and a lot of complications so it was very rushed but I should be able to answer your questions!

They clean them up, cut the cord, and then pass them to whoever your having in with you - Mum, OH etc

where does the baby go whilst im being stitched?
As I had complications OH needed to stay with me so the M/W's took Amber and dressed her and gave her first feed, then when we were in recovery she was passed back to OH.

We were taken back to the delivery suite where I laboured and OH went to tell my parents she'd been born and then they were allowed in for 5 minutes to see us. They don't usually allow it but because of what happened to me my mum demanded to see us! as last she heard I was losing a lot of blood and she was worried sick so I think thats why they let them come in but M/W's were very strict about the whole thing

When your in recovery the M/W's will probably have your LO and then when your taken to the ward baby will be put in the cot next to your bed

Hope that helps and good luck!

My litttle one was cleaned up and passed straight to me so I got to cuddle him whilst being stiched up. He stayed with me whilst being wheeled to recovery and fed as soon as I was in recovery. My mum and sister were able to join me and oh in recovery (although I don't think this is norm, we were just lucky) and a couple of hours after I was on the ward with little man. He stayed with me the whole time and I was able to cuddle him as soon as he had been checked over. All in all a very positive experience... enjoy!!!
