Hey again.

I've got my C section on Thursday, and it really bothering me as to what will happen to baby while I am stitched back up.
My MW said it takes 5 mins to get baby out, and another 30 to put me back together.

I believe I am having an epidural so will be awake (not what I wanted - but cant have it all i guess).

My OH wants to come in with me, but I dont want him too as he has been against me having a section from the start, and I am worried he will pass out. And I wanted my mom to look after baby while I was being stitched back up. But I am trying so hard not to upset everyone!

So can any of you remember what happens?

Thanks
Piglet xx

1st section sophie got taken away cos she was ill

2nd section OH took Alastair to our room while i was being stiched up and they both waited there till i came back along :D

dont worry hun

My DH held my LO while I was being repaired. They were right beside me. :D Your OH should be fine - he won't even see anything as they'll have the screen up.

i didnt have what u r having but when i went theater for stitches in my womans area and slightly to my bum cause i tore when pushing with no contractions lol natural birth my bf had our daughter while i went away to get repaired :)

i had an epidural and thing in hand while in theater.

sorta similiar but not in a way :P

enn! u poor thing.. sorry to barge in..

i havent had a c section..but you ask for what you want.. i think being on your own in there will make it longer if you get me.. if you want the baby with you after ask for it.. if you want it taken out to your mum.. or your husband to take it out.. then you should have what you want..

gl..

just tell them what you want. who you want to hold LO and where you want them whether its in a room or next to you if you are stayin awake.

i dnt want an epidural so if i need a c-section at any point i have had to include in my birth plan who i want to look after bubs whilst im in theatre and who i want to giv her her first feed becus no-one would be allowed in operation with me.

i hope you get what you want

alana was taken away to have her tummy pumped, we only saw her quickt for a photo then not again until i was back in my room. i was so out of it from shock and complications that i dont even remember much of it.

Oh hunny, my OH HATES hozzies and he went white as a sheet when my induction failed and after 36 hours they said I was going for c section...he waited in a side room while they gave me spinal block, it was a weird feeling but I am so glad I stayed awake as it was the most amazing experience!!! They brought OH in at the last moment, there was a screen up so he couldnt see anything, and he sat right beside my head, holding my hand...we both heard Ruby cry as she was born, (I actually felt her being lifted from me which was a fantastic feeling) and the midwife held her up for OH to tell me the sex (she was a surprise!)...What a wonderful moment, he was so overwhelmed he burst into tears sayong "Oh Zo, theres a baby!!!" The midwife was mouthing "A girl!!" at him  :rotfl:

She was taken to be checked over, then they brought her to me for a kiss, and they weighed her in front of me, she was wrapped up and handed to daddy. We both looked at her, crying and laughing for about 10 minutes, and everyone was congratulating us!! The midwife had our camera and took some gorgeous piccies for us-they are so precious now to look back on.

They then took OH into recovery room with Ruby while they stitched me up which didnt take that long, and I was wheeled in to join them. I got my first cuddle, they slide her down inside my gown for some skin to skin contact and they sent OH off for an hour while they checked us both over (he went and rang family and friends with the news, and had a few well earned ciggies!!)

All in all I loved my birth experience, and I hope by sharing it, you can get excited about your birth, it is a wonderful experience!!! Sorry for rabbling on, but I just hope by positive story will make you and OH feel bit better about thursday. Good luck

My hubby was sat right beside me cradling our daughter the whole time I was being stitched up. When finished we went into a recovery room where I got my first cuddle/skin to skin and first breast feed. Later we went up onto the ward. Try not to worry. Mine was an emergency C-section but still a fairly positive experience-staff were very reassuring and calming and explained everything to me x

My OH went to the recovery room, the baby was cleaned up and then passed to him, whilst I was being tidied up.

Good luck for Thursday! :D
