Hey ladies, hope everyone is well and doing lots of BD!

October is now our 3 month of ttc, and this month I have ordered myself a Mooncup as I've heard it being used as a conception aid before, so thought I'd give it a go and see what happens!

I'm due to be ovulating around the 25th this month, so gonna be using it every time I get the chance to jump my husband! :)

Going to try not to symptom spot too much either this month, but it's hard not to!

Also to note, I've started myself and my hubby on Pregnacare his and her prenatal vitamins, and we also use Conceive Plus when BDing.

Anyone else used a mooncup, softcups etc on their ttc journey? Would be interested to hear your experiences with them! :)

BD to you all! xxx

We have a mooncup too! Just gave it a trial run and couldn’t get the bugger out felt like it was sucking my insides out with it hahahahaha!!

I used an Instead Softcup this month. Only 8dpo so not sure if I'm pg yet. But I'm hoping that it worked.

I used it with preseed. After dtd, we put pressed in the cup, inserted it, and I proped up for about half an hour and then kept it in for a few hours.

The first time I tried it, it felt stuck lol I had to basically act as if I was taking a #2. But after practice, I can remove it very easily.

Good luck!

Intrigued by this thread as always hate the strategically positioned tissue trying to hold everything in. But when I looked at where the cup is meant to be placed it's not meant to be up against cervix so not sure how much good it would do other than collect the semen draining back out lol.anything is worth a shot though I guess !?

Well I got jumped very early this morning (like 1am!) so I didn't get a chance to use it unfortunately!
Gonna jump him again tonight and try it out, I am a bit worried about it getting stuck but have read about how to retrieve it without issues lol!

Will keep you lovely ladies posted!

The suction was pretty strong! I didn’t loose it I just couldn’t unstick it Hahaha!! Good luck tonight!

Haha thanks! Gonna go practice using it, so I have some idea of what I'm doing later!

I used soft cups with pre seed last cycle, it took a few goes to get it into the right position bit of a giggle factor after the deed.
I was also unsure as to wether it was acting more of a collection vessel than a barrier to show the little men the right way, but after a few placements the next morning it didn't contain anything so I was happy they were at least heading in the right direction.
who knows if it will help with a positive outcome, but I find myself feeling rather precious about hubbys "samples" so if they're not dribbling out makes me feel like my body at least has a chance with the whole team!!

I've just had a practice with insertion and extraction of the mooncup, and I've got to say it was actually a lot easier than I expected! :-o
Had to trim the tip down a touch but other than that, it fitted beautifully and I didn't even notice it was in there!
Extraction was pretty simple for me, just squeezed the bottom to release the suction and pull out, sweet!

Ismejustme - That's pretty much why I'm using it, just to help keep the little guys in place and get the most of them in the desired location, plus no leakage!

Also, thanks for all the responses ladies! :-D xx

Interesting post, I've never used a moon cup before, might be worth a try.
Will be watching to see how you all get on xxx

As I understood it, the tiny bit of semen that contains all of the sperm is the first to ejaculated and has usually passed into the cervix before a man even pulls out, so the semen that drips out of us is largely sperm free. That said, I think anything is worth a try, even if it's only useful for the placebo effect...it can be extremely powerful in our minds and in turn, our mental health/stress and in limiting the effects of those on our physical selves.

Does that even make sense? Lol. Sorry. It's all worth trying I reckon. X

LOL! I use one for my period every month.. There's a knack to it... This might be TMI but you've got to slide a little finger in and break the suction at the top of the cup, or you will suck at your insides and it will bloody hurt if you yank at it!

Quick question ladies!

I've been using an app called Flo on my phone to help me track ovulation, periods etc but after doing some online ovulation calculations, it seems my ovulation is off by about 3 days!!! :-o

My normal cycle is 27 days, with a period of 5 days max. My app currently shows I should be ovulating on the 23rd of this month, so this coming Tuesday, however I've taken the average from the online tests and it says I should be ovulating on the 26th this month!

Am I completely wrong, has anyone else calculated wrong in the past?

Halp please! Going mad trying to figure this all out!

I do also track my CM!

The apps can definitely be wrong. You can't be sure when O is expected to happen unless you use an OPK (from my understanding). Possibly by temping as well, but I think that temps go up AFTER the spike has already happened. Someone can correct me if I am wrong. I only did BBT for a month and gave it up. It was way too much work. I just use cheap OPKs from online and I started on CD8 and I do it the same time everyday until I get a positive OPK which means that O will happen in about 12-36ish hours. I also do an OPK for about 2-3 days after a positive, just to be sure!

I also used apps (Period Tracker I have used the past 3ish years) and it had my O dates wrong, even though my period dates are always on point! My O days are usually between day 12-16 (which my doctor said was normal). So, get you some cheap OPKs from Amazon and start tracking O, girly!

Good luck!!! :)

I use two apps and the both give me completely different fertile windows! I use opks so I know one app is totally off. I wouldn't rely on an app. opks or BBT are good to get a sense of when you ovulate. CM is also a good indicator. If your cycle is 27 days, you are probably ovulating around cd 13-15. But that depends on the length of your luteal phase.

Thanks ladies!

I'm too lazy to temp, but I do use OPKs every other day when I'm due to ovulate. I have Wilkinson cheapies and a digital CB one.

Checked my CM this afternoon and it's definitely EWCM! Did the BD with the husband this evening with Conceive+ and got my mooncup in!

Got a feeling this month will be my month, at least I really hope so!! Soon to entering the dreaded TTW, so I'll be keeping y'all posted! :-D

Good luck girls! xx

Ah, fingers crossed Phillipa that this is indeed your month xxx
