moderators cannot read pm's. Only administrators have that ability.

The site I admin for I am not able to read PMs never mind the mods unless I change the password & access the account.

the mods cant read pm's and even admin can only read them if they have a patch installed onto the phpbb forum but at the same time if they have that installed then it has to be declared to all members when they agree to the terms and conditions. it is highly unlikely that laura has installed the patch onto here i would have thought. so the answer would be no, the only way someone would know what has been said in pm's you have sent and recieved is if
a. someone knew your password
b. admin changed your password and logged into your account (if this had been done you would know because you wouldnt be able to log back in as they couldnt change it back to your original one as they have no way of knowing what it was)
c. the person you are sending them has told someone
d. you have told someone

My OH just told me the OWNER can have the ability to do this as they have access to the database & have an addon installed.

it is possible on other types of forums but unless the patch is installed to the phpbb forums its not possible

a reason why i would never send pm's through a messageboard unless i am the one adminstering the board...you just never know who is reading your message.

admins can read them through the database but it really is not very user-friendly and can be a pain to read. and yes i admit i have read some pm's through another messageboard and they just weren't interesting at all to be honest

Who ever has the access rights to the database can view any piece of data/information on this forum
