Here's the story....having problems loading pics so there's only a couple....for now.....
I stayed at my mum's the night before and woke feeling good. I'd been a bit poorly but the Antibiotics were kicking in by now! I opened a gift Gareth had left with a tag 'something new?' and it was a gorgeous diamond and white gold pendant. I'd sent a 'Labyrinth' film cell to the hotel for him (it was our first date film)
I'd made a vow to just get myself ready so after a lovely breakfast of croissants and champagne I got dressed and did my make-up. Meaning I was ready by 11.30 and hanging around waiting for my poor harrased mum and bridesmaids! Eventually they left and I climbed into my pals BMW with my dad who made a point of keeping with tradition and telling me 'I didn't have to do anything I didn't want to', bless him!
I arrived at 1.10, just a bit late and was so excited I almost ran down the aisle! The ceremony was a blur, the music was a bit messed up timing wise but it was the only blip all day and didn't matter a jot. When asked if anyone had any objections, my 15 month old nephew shouted, which got a laugh and broke the tension
We had a good hour or so 'photoshoot' before the reception which was great fun. The meal was gorgeous but Gareth's poor brother never ate a bite. He was best man and is incredibly shy. He needn't have worried though as the speeches went smoothly. Gareth's was the best. He told everyone I was the 'jam in his doughnut' and made the whole crowd sing D.I.S.C.O
There was a break then for a couple of hours so we went upstairs to 'rest' and refresh for the night. The first dance went well, and I got a cuddle off Stanley, who was a social butterfly all day, I barely saw him! There was more guests to see then, Beanie and Urchin came along, and a buffet with chocolate fountain, which was a big hit with the hundreds of children there.
The DJ was fab and played SIX Kylie songs in a row for me, but the music overall was good, a bit for everyone I thought and couldn't be faulted. It was fab to see so many friends and family I hadn't seen some for YEARS. It's the wierdiest feeling to have your whole life in one place. By 12.30 only my parents and Gareth and I were left on the dancefloor, dancing to 'I've had the time of my life', while his brothers were drinking in the bar.
We went up to the room and my friend had decorated the bed in lovehearts, sequins and glow-in-the-dark silly string. We sat up until 2am, opening cards, drinking champagne, eating strawberries and buzzing.
It was such a magical day and night, I'd love to do it all over again! Here's a couple of piccies.......they're not the 'proper' ones but my mate took them and he's pretty good.
