The weddings on May 5th, very exciting. Unfortunately the dressmaker dropped out of the project, and with money tight I've had to make some compromises on the dress.
I've got one from OXFAM It's very traditional, not what I thought I'd go with, but at £140 new with tags (ex catwalk, not a cancelled wedding or anything horrid) I can't complain!
I've gone for a medieval, crowny type head dress as a nod to what I wanted originally. We're shopping for an outfit for Stanley at the moment. OH wants him in a suit , so if anyone sees any good ones sized 9-12 months approx let us know!
Noooooo - you got that beautiful dress for that price!!!! Holy cr*p, what a bargain. It is absolutely stunning & we will need to see pics!! I wish I could do it all again!! (To DH again of course!!)
Minxy you will look beautiful, I can't wait for the pics and stanley is going to look mighty fine too! Look at you with your two hansome men for your big day
PS I hated my wedding dress! My Dad gave me the money to have one made but I had just opened my shop I used to have and didn't get time so ordered a dress off ebay that only came a week before we flew to Vegas and was too big so I had to beg a dressmaker to alter it for me! I was quite pleased in the end as the morning after it looked filthy where we had been running around all evening from casino to casino and the dry cleaning cost almost as much as the dress I will just give it to Leorah to dress up in when she's older now and have a gorgeous made to measure dress one day when I think my body is in good enough shape!!! Anyway the moral of my story was that its about the fun you have and the marriage not the dress at the end of the day
I LOVED my dress....shame I will never fit into it again!!! I'm not a dress person really but if it fitted me i'd wear it round the house I love it o much!! Wedding's do funny things to us!!
OMG THAT DRESS IS GORGEOUS!!! That was a great buy.
This was my dress, its evenn cheaper now. Actually perhaps it wasn't so bad but it's just that I was going to get something made in red and a bit Marilyn Monroeish so wasn't what I had planned. My DH loved it though
Hey Mixy didn't realise you were getting married! Congrats hun can't wait to see the photos - obviously you must post some pics!!!!
Tina - ha another one to get married in Vegas, Katt I vaguely remember us discussing this while we were still pregnant. We got married in the Bellagio, it was great but I got quite ill, through the stress I managed to loss my voice - after saying 'I do'!
That's sp cool we all have something else in common!! We got married at Viva las Vegas I was drunk and laughed the whole way through That was nearly 2 years ago aon April 25th, it was easter weekend and sooo busy!
I have just looked at the pic of my dress and realise it wasn't so bad. I like the top. Maybe one day I could have it made into an evening dress and dyed another colour, it was that big skirt I didn't like
Daggers the day after our wedding we went to Tiffanys in the Bellagio and Martin bought me a neclace. When we first looked atplaces to stay that is where we were going but by the time we booked it there was no availability (probably because of Easter) so we stayed at the one with the white tigers - I can't remember the name!!!
Oh dear I'm going to balme the breastfeeding now... we were married on March 26th, I think April 25th is Martin's birthday but I can't remember I'm not so good with dates and stuff, OMG I have just realised it will be our anniversary in a few weeks and I haven't dropped any hints that I want a bracelet I saw in Tiffanys I still haven't got anything for providing Martin with a wonderful daughter so I must get on the case
Katt what are you like, forgetting your wedding date
Daggers how mad; I didn't realise you were married in Vegas; I must have missed that conversation.
We were married at The Little Chapel of The Flowers Sept 04!
20 friends came out with us and we had a helicopter ride and reception in The Fontana Bar, Bellagio; overlooking the fountains. It was fab! I love Vegas
Your getting married on my 2 year wedding anniversary we got married in Cyprus on 05.05.05 (so OH has no excuse to forget it)
BHS has some really cute pin stripe suits for little fellas, i'm going to be a bridesmaid in September and want to put nipper in a suit, i'm watching a cute linen suit on ebay at the moment, there are usually lots of outfits on ebay as they have only been worn once for weddings/christenings.
Ooops talking about forgetting anniversaries, ours was on the 1st March and not that I forgot but the night before I suddenly realised that I hadn't bought a card (we're not big on celebrating these things), and felt really bad the next day when my OH had got me a few small pressies and a card - talk about feeling like a dork!!!!
Just to knackered after looking after my baba 24/7! That's my excuse
We don't bother with all that either, not Valentines either.
I mentioned to Martin that we all got married in Vegas and what a coincidence and so we started chatting and we are going back when Leorah is old enough to enjoy it and will renew our vows in a very tongue in cheek way but I am going to have my dress dyed red and made into a slinky evening dress so I am happy now
