when we were at the cinema on sunday and my parents were looking after her. id left them loadsa different cartons coz i dont kno which one she'd like. they gave her the aptamil one, she had 30ml apparently, and seemed to like it altho she struggled a bit with the bottle (as did my parents, they never bottle fed either)
im glad she took to it, i kno i can phase out the BF now after crimbo in time for my return to work in feb. :)

That is great hun; it'll make your transition to work a little easier. :D

If you do want to phase it out, then thats great, however it is possible to return to work and express milk if you would rather do that. I went back when Ellie was 5months old and this is what I did. It was a struggle to get her to take the bottle to start with but it worked out well in the end. Not trying to preach just letting you know you have a legal right to express at work if you are a nursing mum.

What does the law say?
It is for the mother to decide
how long she wishes to
breastfeed, and returning
to work does not mean that
she has to stop. On returning
to work she should provide
her employer with written
notification that she is
breastfeeding. Her employer
must then conduct a specific
risk assessment.
The Workplace Regulations
and Approved Code of
Practice require employers to
provide suitable facilities for
pregnant and breastfeeding
mothers to rest.
The HSE recommends that it
is good practice for employers
to provide a private, healthy
and safe environment for
breastfeeding mothers to
express and store milk. It is
not suitable to use toilets for
this purpose.
You can find out more about
this on the HSE website,
www.hse.gov.uk/mothers, or
by phoning their helpline on
0845 345 0055.
The HSE also publishes
a useful guide, ‘New and
expectant mothers at work:
A guide for employers’
(HSG122), which can be
purchased from hsebooks.com
or 01787 881165 at £9.50.
