Ive got my booking in appointment with midwife tommorrow, she coming to my house 9am....got the hoover out lol!

Does anyone know if you can hear a heartbeat with a doppler at nearly 11weeks? Il be 10+6...

xx

most midwifes dont try threw fear of people getting upset if they cant hear it but some girls have heard it out then with there own ones it depends on baby i think
have you had a scan yet hun?
manda xx

yes manda Ive had a scan at 6weeks and saw the heartbeat...I just want to hear it LOL

I saw my midwife on Tuesday and she said they they only do it after 12 weeks now, so that the uterus has time to pop out of the pelvis, this makes it easier to hear the heartbeat. And I only found out the other day that the heartbeat is heard through the babies back.

Up here they do listen for the heartbeat - my sister heard the heartbeat when she was pregnant at a midwife appointment ;)

I think the official line is twelve weeks but my midwife wouldn't consider it. She knows what a worrier I am and with the amount of padding I've got, it would be even harder to find, so she just said no!!LOL

I've seen the heartbeat twice though so thats good enough for me

Somehow I thought you were further on than that Tots?? Hope it goes ok for you tomorrow and that your midwife will give it a try!!

my midwife said they dont recomend using dopplers til after 15weeks bt my gp heard my babies heartbeat when i was 10 weeks so i think it depends on positioning of baby and the professional involved

hi girls

god I know I wish I was further along too! It seems like my ticker is dragging this week.. :(

Well anyway, my midwife came and she is really nice. We just filled out lots of paperwork. Due to my doctors being so crap I have to have all my bloods re-done   I made sure when I had them done that I wouldnt have to have them done twice and docs reassured me that it would be fine but lo and behold they've lost all the results GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR I hate needles

Due to there being a slight increased risk of diabetes (sp) & high blood pressure in my fam and my history of high/low blood pressure I have been refered to a specialist for closer care. On a good note my midwife is all for homebirths and she is 110% behind me to have baby at home which is nice.

Im sooooooooooo down today though, just had notification of my housing benefit award.....a grand total of £3 PER WEEK! Its more like sweetie money than help with rent so il be going through the eviction process in 3weeks time.

Happy days :?
