Midwife this week

Ok so after a long time coming i have my midwife appointment on wednesday, for all you ladies that have had theirs i know its an hour long and i have to take a wee sample with me..

What am i likely to be asked just so i can prepare myself x

They check height & weight obviously, take bloods and then get your notes filled in. Like family medical history of you and OH and your own histories obviously etc, previous pregnancy questions and all that. Want to know if you smoke or asthmatic. Just all the stuff you can think of really. xxx

I had mine today and that's pretty much it. Just loads and loads of medical history (just yes/no questions), a few about things that might run in the family like diabetes, whether you and your partner are blood relatives , any concerns you might have about anything. I really enjoyed mine - it's so nice to sit down and talk to someone about being pregnant
And they'll arrange your 12 week scan too - although usually you then have to wait for a letter from the hospital with the date x

Is bloods a definate? I know im having bloods done after my scan next week, must man up... hate needles.
As with regards to the babys dad what if im unable to get his family history does that make a difference?

I've got the midwife coming to my house tomorrow so no idea what to expect as they won't be able to do the usual bloods etc, wasn't expecting to see her so soon but I'm glad cos it'll put my mind at rest on a few things. All I've been asked is to know family medical history and read through all the info they sent me
