RANT MODE.......

Went to MW today, this is my 3rd appointment. This was the 3rd midwife. I always ask for the last appointment of the day as I work in a hospital 15 miles away and am paid by the hour and was told the latest appointment time was 2:30. Not only did they book two of us in for 2:30 there were 3 people with appointments after me. The poor lady who also had a 2:30 appointment was halfway through when somebody came in in a "rush" so she had to sit back in the waiting room then go back in. She is a week overdue with her 1st baby so I'm sure whoever shoved her aside wouldnt have been much more of a priority and could have waited 15 minutes.

The appointment felt mechanical, I know she's not my regular midwife, hell I dont know who actually is because there's been a different one each time. It was kinda like weight, BP, urine, get on couch, get off couch then she finally asked how I was feeling. Well quite shit actually, I was kept waiting an hour past my appointment time I have a sinus headache and have barely slept for 2 days and feel like I'm going to :puke:
Response: Book in with GP.

Now I'm sorry but standards weren't great with DD 14 years ago but at least I saw the same midwife EVERY time without exception, they got to know you and if you felt off colour she'd know before you told her.

I want a homebirth but havent felt able to ask any questions yet due to the inconsistencies of the midwife team. I cant believe how poor it has become :shakehead:

i am the same where i am .
was same 8 years ago too and the system has supposed to have been changed for the better.
Every time i go i have to give new midwife a briefing on my history, then because of chronic urine problems (which are no danger to pregnancy) they keep wanting to do the same tests about every 3 weeks the labs must groan when they see my samples coming in AGAIN :wall:

Much the same here, i get seen by a team of 6/7 different midwives and it'll probably be a different one each time and then someone completely different at the birth :wall:

Mmmm, midwifes unless somethings wrong with you that might affect the baby they don't want to know.

I have been exactly the same - 3 different appointments 3 different midwives !!!!!!!!!!!!!

so frustrating as there is no consistancy !!!! :wall: :wall: :wall:

I have never been one for going the docs and never been to hospital before - can't wait for for my baby to be born and then can stop all these visits to docs and hospital !!!!!!
