Hi girlies
So I finally got to see my midwife today, after a long wait! Everything is going well My fundal height is measuring 34 weeks, but I'm told that's normal. BP was slightly higher than last visit, at 130/76 but she's not too worried as it's just a one off and it was hot in the surgery etc. Urine is completely clear so no worries there at all. I mentioned to her that I've been seeing stars on occasion, but as urine and BP fine she said not to worry but she will keep an eye on me, and if I have any worries to ring delivery suite where they can check me out Baby's heart rate was 138 - 140 BPM and she was wriggling all over the place whilst midwife was trying to get a reading, so it was easy for midwife to see how she was lying - there was a massive great lump moving about which was obviously her bum! And here's the best bit - she's 3/5ths engaged already Go baby!
I really like my midwife, she's really nice to talk to. My partner and I helped her out at last weeks ante natal class by moving a ton of furniture around for her, and looking after our group (we are a big group so have been split into two teams for activities!) and she always chats to us when she sees us. Anyhow, she was asking us about our housing situation and stuff and we talked to her about our problems with the council etc and she told us that when she had her baby she made herself homeless, so she understands what we're going through. I also mentioned that I'm worrying about living at home with my mum and dad as my brother has behavioural problems and can be quite aggressive and she told us her own brother is schizophrenic so she can sympathise. And what's really nice is that she said she will be the midwife who comes to check on us after baby is born so she has offered to write a letter to the council for us saying that we need to be priority housing I think this is so nice of her, as she sees a lot of people in our situation but I'm sure she doesn't offer to do that for just anybody. So it just goes to show that if you're nice to people you get rewarded in the long term....not that that's a reason to be nice to people, but I'm just saying
So all in all it was a really positive visit! Then we went to see my 2nd cousin George who is 6 weeks old, and he puked on me I am so great with babies!
