Good morning everyone
Just came back from midwife and I am glad to know that baby is still engaged,,, I was sure he wasn't as I couldn't feel so much pressure between my legs any more when walking,,,
The only change (I knew he had moved in some way) is his position: he was ROA at 36 weeks and is now LOL :rotfl: that's why I feel constantly kicked on my right side
Do you think there's more chances of him turning back to back in the next few days (weeks?) because of this LOL position? And what can I do to avoid it? I'm already spending most of the day on my birthing ball,,, I have to admit that I don't understand much about this baby positioning business :? And the midwife keeps telling me everything's fine as she knows I'm very easily scared
Hope I won't make it to the next appointment which is three days after my due date!

LOL is the most usual position for a baby so don't fret. LOL is great news and ROL is also fine as I understand it.

Mine goes from LOL to ROL but spends most lying LOL now. Has not gone back to back in eons now. I'd not worry if I were you.

Thanks Sherlock for your reassuring words
I know I tend to worry for anything

Ditto what Sherlock said, LOL & LOR are the preferred and best positions for birth.

Glad appointment went well.

Hello

what does LOL stand for ? I think/hope mine has gone to that after being on my ball and all fours, i get kicks in my right hand side as well as punches there too

Not 100% sure but I always interpreted it to be Laying on Left, as opposed to laying on right.

Just googled "pregnancy abbreviations" and found this

Presenting part or lie
Cephalic (or ceph) -- head-down
Br -- bottom down or breech
LOA -- the back of your baby's head is on your left-hand side and towards the front of your tummy
ROA -- the back of your baby's head is on your right-hand side and towards the front of your tummy
LOP -- the back of your baby's head is on your left-hand side and towards the back of your tummy
ROP -- the back of your baby's head is on your right-hand side and towards the back of your tummy)

Thanks Charlie for these abbreviations :)
According to what the midwife told me this morning LOL is lateral position on the left side,,, which should be in between LOA and LOP then
