Hello everyone

sorry this took so long to post, I don't know how to upload a photo, if someone can help me I'll get one on to show you.

I started contractions on the Friday, I made a huge chicken casserole and baked flapjack, I never bake to this was weird for me.... they were every 25mins to every 10mins and went on and off all over the weekend.

After very little sleep we eventually went to hospital sunday night, they were not regular but I wasn't coping with the exhaustion and sleep deprivation. They said I was 1/2 cm dilated and not in labour but they could keep me in and give me some morphene to help me sleep.

The next morning the pains got worse and closeer together but they would not give me an internal saying to just have a bath but by lunchtime i noticed green discharge. I was in agony and very tired, they checked me once i told them about the green in my show which was coming out in abundance. They did an internal and I was 6cm !

Off to labour suite and ahhh the relief of gas and air and being taken seriously. I opted for an epidural as was so tired. Even though I was 6cm they said walking and bouncing on ball would have sped things up and sometimes wonder if the epidural stopped my pelvis from opening, anyhow it goes a bit wrong from her on. I got stuck at 6cm....body would not dilate, epidural does not work...need another one, this works but only on one side...stuck at 6cm for 12 hours, need to get drip....this makes things crank up a gear and i spend another 10 hours on drip...I was quite desperate to be honest and exhausted....2 hours pushing once at 10cm and she wasn't coming down.....

Off to theatre, forceps and two pushes and she arrives....

She is beautiful but i cant hold her as they spend 2 hours bring up my blood pressure, i had gone into shock...I can't remember anything from here....back at the ward I loose a blood clot and 5 pints of blood and it goes hazy....I get a transfusion and need to spend a week at hosptial..

she was worth every minute tho and i would do it all over again even tho it was a hard birth...

I hope to be on the forum more once she settles into a routine, she is demand feeding at the mo and can be hourly !

xx

Congratulations
We were in hospital at about the same time, even though I didn't stay as long as you had to stay...

To post a picture you need to upload your picture on a hosting site first (for example a good one is www.photobucket.com) . Then you have to copy and paste the link they give you into your message

Congratulations, sounds like a hard birth but definitey worth it in the end :cheer:

Sounds like a difficult few days hun!
Glad you are recovering now.
Congratulations on the birth of your daughter. :D

Congratulations. Looking forward to seeing a piccie :D

About uploading a pic:

Here is a link to photobucket, an image hosting website.

http://photobucket.com/

From this you can browse your pics from your computer and upload them to Photobucket. You are then given some codes which you then copy and paste onto the desired destination. For forums like this it's the bottom link (IMG Code) Good luck  :D

Oh dear sorry to hear about your difficult birth!

Congratulations! :cheer:  She shares my birthday! :cheer:

Congratulations. Hope your feeling alot better now  xx

CONGRATULATIONS!!!

Your experience sounds similar to mine; I also went into shock after the birth and my blood pressure plummeted, I was totally out of it. The blood loss you had sounds very scary though - I can't believe you were in a week.

Brilliant news that she's finally here though hun

sounds like a tough labour hun

congrats on the arrival of mhairi!  :cheer: :cheer:

Congratulations honey!! I am so sorry labour was so hard! I feel guilty because I was telling you how good my epidural was on the Sunday - I am really really sorry things didn't go as smoothly for you.

I am glad little Mhairi was worth the long labour. I can't wait to see a piccie.

Much love to you and Mhairi from April and me xxxxx
