A colleague had a good idea today, as I can't take any adult cold stuff because I am breastfeeding, can I take any baby medicine for my cold?

Especially medised as this is a decongestant. The oldest it mentions on the side of the pack is 6yrs to under 12yrs. Is there any reason why somebody over 12years can't take it?

Thanks.

There may be a chemical in there that is not good for breastfeeding but also you would probably have to drink the whole bottle in order to get the proper adult doseage and that would be pricey ;)

There are certain natural products that can help your cold like vicks rub you can use and paracetomol. Have you asked a pharmacist? There might be more.

Thats all I have been using but I am getting quite run down now and worryingly my milk supply today was definitely less. I really really struggled to get 4oz of for each of her feeds I express while at work and while she was with me she had to feed of both breasts for every feed today, she normally only wants one breast. I am hoping if I can get a really good nights sleep where I can actually breathe it will help. NB this the 4th cold I have got back to back starting a few weeks before christmas. Dosage wise I was intending on taking the upto 6-12years dose.
