Medical Treatments while pregnant

Hi All. So Im just past 8 weeks and having 2 dilemmas at the mo.

My 1 child has pink eye which I am trying to treat with prescribed meds but now I feel my eyes are all itchy and thick. Any mom had this whilst pregnant? Not sure what I can and cant use. Im quite conservative when it comes to taking meds while pregnant.

Also, my other child is due for her next vaccinations which is the MMR. My concern is what exposure does that create for me and unborn baba as I know measles and rubella are the dangerous ones for pregnant moms. My oldest child hit out in a rash and fever after having her MMR so Im just wary if my other child now gets hers and starts showing symptoms that it puts this pregnancy in danger. Help please.

I had all my shots when I was a child so confident yes. But I do know any exposure is still a risk.

I think the risk is very low if you’ve been immunised yourself but I would maybe speak to your midwife or practice nurse first and get their advice they might advise you to delay it until the baby is born, it’s a case of weighing up the risks
Re your eyes I wouldn’t see the harm in using eye drops, don’t think they can enter your blood stream, speak to the pharmacist they will advise you properly xx

I wouldn't worry about the vaccine, if you're immunized then you should be okay. But like Nightowl said, it might be worth mentioning to your GP if you're worried.x
