measuring help

I'm selling a men's coat on ebay and I've had a question asking for the chest measurement. How do I do it? It it just straight across?

Sorry if this is a dumb question but I think the coat will go for quite a lot of money so I want to get it right.

My mummy says.. measure straight across and then double it...
