Morning, does anyone know how to find statistics for specific hospitals regarding their c-sect rate please? Tried looking on which? and NHS but maybe I'm being too dense to find it properly. Wanting it for a friend who's convinced her hospital force more women into having a c-sect than others in our area. Thanks girls if you can help! Xx

It doesn't seem like it's really easy to find. Which had some links to data for 2013-14 and the Guardian had a link to 2008-09, but can't see anything more recent.

I don't know if all hospitals are listed. To be honest, I found the opposite. My hospital were so hellbent on not giving c-secs that they delayed induction when I had pre-eclampsia and kept me going in labour when I had a dangerous infection and signs my kidneys weren't functioning properly, before the finally conceded defeat and went with an emcs.

Ah thanks JoeyClare! Will have a look. Crazy how hospitals differ isn't it. My hospital has a really low percentage of emergency C-sects or requested ones but I only found that out by seeing their NHS stats on a noticeboard in one of the wards. The hospital my friend wants to go to (only because of distance) is the LGI in Leeds and they appear to have a really high rate of just opting for a CS. I know a few people who have been and felt forced into one and I think it's worrying her a bit!

Oo that's great mayflower...I'll see if I can dig around for the Yorkshire ones! You'd think stats like these would be more accessible xx

It's really bugging me because I remember comparing statistics online but I can't find where!

My daughter was born by emergency c-sec, I'm hoping for a VBAC this time, at a different hospital to where I had her. My research showed the fiest hospital had less births but more intervention and c-secs than the second hospital (more births, less intervention and less c-sec)!
