Maternity leave!

Hi ya

Dont know if any one can help me but my baby is due on the 18 september and i have given my boss my MATB1 and i ma due to give him a letter this week confirming when i am leaving for maternity leave.

I fort that i knew all about the maternity leave i am due to take but now im not so sure.... im abit confused, I was just wondering if any one knows how long im able to take because in some places it says 26 weeks in others it says 39 weeks. IM SOOO CONFUSED!!

Im taking my leave 11 weeks before i am due to give birth.

Any help or extra infomation will be great!

Hiya,

paid maternity leave (statutory) lasts for 9 months (I think this is 39 weeks) and then you can have a further 3 months unpaid maternity leave.

You'd have to ask your employer for your company's specific maternity policy, because some vary (mostly on pay, not on time off, becuase this is set by the government).

39 weeks (paid leave) is right. You can then take unpaid leave. It works out that in total, by law, you can take a year off.
