Maternity Benefits/Grants?

Hi everyone,

I have absolutely no idea what I am entitled to, - if anything! Does anyone know a website or anyhing where you can check what you are entitled to?

I know that there was a £190 grant, but according to my friend that finished in January 2011 - Doh!

Does anyone have any advice or know anything that we can claim?

nothing untill 29 weeks hun, thats the maternity grant but you have to be on benifits :/

im not on benefits yet but will be attempting to claim for everything as i havent been in work long enough to get anything other than the goverment allowence and oh doesnt earn enough to keep everything going. xxx

Yes the £190 Health in Pregnancy Grant has been abolished now - I missed out by 3 days

The £500 Sure Start Grant is still available after 29 weeks preg and if it is your first child - you need to be on benefits but this includes working tax credit so if you are working but claiming WTC like me you should still be entitled xxx
