please help me understand, i know you have to be in work for so many weeks etc, im not pregnant but we are ttc, i was made redundant on the 1st sept but have worked up till then since returning to work from maternity leave last october
im due to start my new job this week or next, will i be entitled to maternity allowance?
thank you for
:)

it depends when you actually get pregnant to be honest, basically if you start a new job before you're severn weeks pregnant your entitled to ssp (statutory maternity pay) which is paid by your employer, if not but u have recently been in work you may be entitled to ma (maternity allowance) which is paid at the same rate but through the government

check direct.gov to see if you qualify but it sounds to me like you will!
xx

thanks, well im due to ovulate this week.....:)
ive tried looking online but i dont understand the whole working 26 weeks within 66 weeks!

It's easy- when you get pregnant and have your due date then you just count the weeks from there. You starting your new job soon will mean you get mat pay from your employer.

good luck comes in 3's, new jobs one maybe baby could be number two!?

***luck***

xx
