Maternity Allowance Query

Hi girls,

Just wondering if anyone has claimed Maternity Allowance without payslips?
I haven't got my payslips from my job last year anymore, and for personal reasons really don't want to contact my old company to get duplicates, so thought I might be able to send my bank statements instead. Or maybe my p45 from when I left to show my earnings as a chunk.

Any advice would be appreciated!

I think ur p45 should b ok...il b claimin mat allowance later in the year but am self employed so have no payslips :/

Thanks Emma, spoke to a brilliant lady on the helpline and managed (hopefully) to sort it all out. I suggest if you have any queries you call the number in the back of the app form as I was straight through to them, and they know what they're talking about.

I can't remember if I handed mine in as I was made redundant just before (beepers) so I handed in my P45 only I think ...as I was entitled to MAT instead of SMP for my employment history.

I would have just said if you needed to contact your old employer to do so in writing and recorded delivery.
