Maternity Allowance Backlog

Hi ..
Is anybody else experiencing a long time in receiving their Maternity Allowance ?

Thery received my claim on the 28th Sept, then due to the postal strike there was a backlog, I rang them yesterday and Friday which in itself is a pain trying to get thru to them.

They advised me they are still looking at end of Aug claims

With no wages, no benefits and no working tax credits, what are you suppose to live on ???

How is everyone else coping ??

They recieved mine on 10th december and when i phoned up just before xmas they said they were dealing with begining of december claims so im hoping mine wont be toooo long because i can't claim income support because i don't know if i will get maternity allownace! and im not getting job seekers allowance anymore as im over 29 weeks so god knows when ill next get money!!! and im on my own! im relying on the sure start grant coming through and that getting me by till i get anymore money
