still receiving the same amount of child tax credit for these two, should this be looked at again with me being on mat pay?

As I understand it, child tax credit is based on your income as if you were working. So in my case, I won't receive anything extra while I am on maternity leave even though I will have significantly less income than when I return to work.

Depending on your income you may get more for having 2 children and regardless of income you get more for having a child under 1 so the amount you get should be looked at again anyway.

I've just called about this and I am getting just under £200 based on my salary from my job - they didn't ask anything about mat pay or mat allowance

give them a call - they are quite helpful ;)

I'm on lessy than a 3rd of my salary now i'm on mat pay, phoned TC and they were really helpful. I just gave them my estimation of my earnings for 2008/09. I did 6 months of mat pay and 6 months of salary to get my estimation.

xx
