Will mastitus clear up on its own untreated? I have it again, but due to the large red patch being on the underside of my breast I didn't realise for a couple of days that it was there. My breast is still feeling very bruised and painful but not quite as bad as yesterday morning. I do feel a bit more ill than I did yesterday and I have been overtired (found myself nearly falling alseep at the wheel yesterday driving back from another site). However the feeling ill could just be psychosamatic (sp?). I am now back at work 5 days a week so visiting the doctor isn't as easy as it was, and I have a training course tomorrow and an off-site meeting on Friday.

Anybody? It is getting less and less painful, but Ellie was really complaining about it last night so I don't think anywhere near as much is coming out of that breast. She was happy with the other breast.

Hi Nicky

I am pretty sure you need antibiotics to clear this completely.
It can get very nasty if left untreated. It sounds like you have a busy schedule hun but I would try and take some time to see the doc as it is your health and that is much more important.

Hope you feel better soon

Hi

Ive had it twice. It feels like flu like symptoms as well as breast tenderness. I got antiobiotocs from my doc. She said it can turn into an absess in extreme cases so I would get it checked out and get anything nasty nipped in the bud. Hope you are feeling better soon
