Hello ladies,

Started with sore breast on Friday morning, carried on as normal and by dinner time was running a high fever with chills. Was stuck in bed all day sat and sun doing nothing but feeding and sleeping (luckily oh was great and looked after baby so I could sleep). Feeling much better this morning but thought I had better get checked out by gp. Turns Out I have really bad mastitis and got strong antibiotics to help the infections.

Anyhow was wondering if anyone had any magic tips on how to reduce the pain as my breast is extremely swollen and painful or do I just keep up with the paracetamol and grit my teeth?!

I had a nasty case in the summer, and the only thing that worked for me was a warm flannel and feeding as much as I could. Paracetamol is about the only thing you can take, sadly. The good news is, once I started on antibiotics, I started to feel better pretty quickly. Good luck. :)

Cold cabbage leaves, paracetamol and feed feed feed. Do you have a blocked duct?

Tapatalking so cant see signatures

Thanks ladies, been taking paracetamol throughout the day and feeding lots and thankfully starting to feel a bit better. Using a hot water bottle before feeding which I think is also helping. Seriously is a pain tho - we really shouldn't have to deal with this after all we been through! X

Totally feel your pain.. I had it for weeks before gttubg antibiotics as it kept easing off then getting better again. If your nipples are sore out some breastmilk on them and let them airdry. For the breast I was doing hot bath or flannel before feeds, then cold flannel after them xxx
