Hiii,

So, im 19 weeks and suffering from headaches that last two-3 days at a time. My midwife has told me to take pain killers when they come on as they get so bad they turn into migraines. I don’t want to be popping pain killers tho tbh.
Part of the problem is hormones as I don’t react well to them, never have done. Another more major part is extreme tension in my neck and shoulders. I had an accident a few years ago leaving me to have metal work in my humerus which has always created this kind of tension but I think adding in my chest is now larger and I’m at a desk so posture isn’t always great it’s all making my headaches worse.

I used to get deep tissue/ sports massages a few times a year to get rid of the tension but I know I can’t get them now.

Has anybody had a pregnancy massage? I’m really keen to try one but worried, I know they are for pregnant women but I know massages release toxins into the body and don’t want to harm the baby (I’m being extra cautious as I’ve had two mc)

Thanks ladies xxx

I had one a few weeks ago, by a qualified pregnancy massage therapist. There's a website you can look up for your nearest one. I'll try to find it :)

I had a pregnancy massage towards the end. Just as treat really while I waited for baby!

I think from memory it's fine from Tri 2 onwards and as long as it's a pregnancy one. Check with any therapist you book with as they'll be able to tell you.
