Thea has been babbling up a storm for months now but just recently she has been directing the words mama and dadda actually at us, like she crawls towards you shouting for you then sits at your feet with her hands above her head shouting mama mama mama or dadda dadda dadda.

For the last week id noticed that she seemed to be saying dog when she was chasing Baileys around the house (my poor dog gets no peace at all) I figured it was just a coincidence since i thought she was too young for a first real word. Richard had mentioned that he had noticed it too.

Anyway since last night Thea keeps pointing to Baileys and shouting dog! Its blatantly obvious she is associating the word with the object! I phoned my mam and she said my first word was dog too and i was just over 8 months like Thea! I still wasnt sure so i looked it up online and apparently some babies do use their first real word this early especially if they have done most other things early and you read to them everyday etc.

She is determined to walk soon too. She can get up and down unaided without furniture now but as soon as she takes one step she quickly sits back down on her bum and laughs. I dont think its going to be long before i have a walker on my hands!

Yay im so proud of my little genius lol.

Awww bless her. Arianna says dog too and Dadda..... but no mama yet
