i didnt write down the date when melissa first smiled. i didnt write the date when she first laughed. first rolled, first sat up, first pulled herself up, first steps! first word! i mean i probably mentioned all of them on here so could perhaps find out with a bit of dedicated searching (thru my 10,000+ posts!) but i havent kept a record- all of these things have been observed with glee and i was thrilled when i saw each one happen its not like i dont care! but idk i feel a bit inadequate sometimes coz i havent kept a baby milestone book!
some of them are quite confusing (was just reading littlepip's post about sitting up) like walking, for example- millie has taken two steps by herself but she didnt realise she was doing it and cried and sat down when she noticed lol. she will still only walk if someone holds her hand.
and speech! first word what does everyone count as first word?! millie like i think most babies said "mama" when she was 7 or 8 months old- but it had no meaning, so does it count??? she didnt say "mama" referring to me, it was just the sound so i dont kno if it counts. she says mama and dada all the time but she has never looked me in the eye or pointed at me and repeated it, therefore obviously understanding the word! she points at the cat and says "dat!" but im still not sure about whether she knows its a cat and is tryna say cat or if its just a co-incidence that she makes a noise similar to the noun 'cat'
i feel like im *supposed* to understand her when she talks her toddler-gobbledegook so i feel bad coz i dont!
or is this normal (i hope so!)
